The drive from Idaho Falls towards Portland Oregon was amazing, I've done a similar drive in the past along the Columbia river (last year with my Brothers on the way into Seattle), but this year I went further south. The scenery didn't disappoint! The Columbia river snakes through a valley on the way to the Pacific Ocean, with each twist and turn, you see a bit more of the river.
We made it safely into Portland and was able to find a hotel for the night, so far the system of Roland gets the first one, then I get the second one, seems to be working fine, other then the small room in Rapid City, most of the hotels have been pretty good.
After we got into the city, we we started searching for places to eat, new city, new food. One thing I love about road trips, is not eating anything mainstream, I want unique local restaurants and the unique tasty cuisine that comes with it. We were hoping to find some kind of Indian food truck, but we weren't able to locate it, after wandering for a bit on Alberta St in Portland, we stumbled across Pine State Biscuits, I had initial reservations about going in, I didn't think the food would be up to par, but after reading the reviews on Yelp....yeah, we went in.....holy wah! The Reggie Deluxe was AMAZING!

Alberta St, in Portland is a very hipster-ish area, lots of boutique restaurants and shops, we're gonna go back tomorrow morning for another round at Pine State Biscuits, if my heart can take it. I'm also hoping to hit up Voodoo Donuts, I've seen the videos on Youtube and the various cooking shows, so yeah, I gotta eat there. Another night of drinking some beers and chilling out before we head up to Seattle tomorrow, lets hope we can find a room.
