We're back on the road again today, driving down through Jasper National park into Banff National park.

If you want to feel small amount the giants, then this is the drive for you, winding highway, with bountiful forests and rivers where ever you look.

All while being dwarfed by the mighty towering rocky mountains.

We managed to get a bit of sight seeing into today, along the highway we stopped off and took in the Athabasca falls,

As well as the Columbia Glacier, where you can actually walk right out to the glacier.

I quickly realize just how poorly in shape I am, to get to the end of the glacier, you first have to hike up about a Km, which doesn't sound that bad, until you realize you're a couple thousand meters above sea level. Even with the euphoria of the lack of blood to the brain, you can really appreciate mankind's damage to nature. I was here the year before and the glacier extended a couple of hundred meters further down the mountain. I wish parks Canada would close the area down to tourists, at this rate in a decade the glacier maybe gone forever.

After the stop at the glacier, we headed back down the Ice Fields highway to Banff. No stop to Banff would be complete without a visit to Lake Louise, but before we visited the quint-essential Banff tourist spot, we stopped in first at Lake Moraine.

If the back ground looks familiar, that's because this was scene on the old $20 dollar bill. I visited here last year with my Brothers on your cross Canada road trip, and I wanted to be sure that I brought Roland. Lake Moraine is a bit quieter compared to Lake Louise, but just as spectacular in my books.

And finally, Lake Louise, a majestic glacier lake and one of the most famous spots in all of Canada.

No stop to Lake Louise would be complete, without dipping your feet into the water. The bone chilling cold water, feels as if your soul is being refreshed. Plus I think my feet were really starting to stink, so....It was a win win by dipping them in there.

After a nice long hike around the lake, Roland and I were off to Calgary. We've been planning to meet up with our friends Brook and Kiera for a few beers.

It's not the best picture of Kiera and Brook, but it was great seeing them!

After a couple of drinks they were kind enough to take us on a long tour of down town Calgary, and show use a few shitty little liquor stores that are spectacular compared to liquor stores in Ontario...but that's me bitching for another night.

I'm exhausted, time for bed....here are the pictures of the day.
