Tonight, I'll be discussing my Breda (Italian) M1 Garand, this rifle came to me via Al Simmons Gun Shop in Hamilton.
A few months previously, I was at their shop and there was an M1 Garand on the shelf and I was looking at it and for the longest while I was hymning and hawing over whether or not to buy it. In error I hesitated and a few hours later I changed my mind, I called back to ask if it was still available, and yeah, it was gone. So that day forward I said the next opportunity I had to purchase one, I wasn't going to hesitate. Well a few months later, back at Al Simmons gun shop to look for reloading equipment, on the shelf was another M1 Garand. This time, it was coming home with me.
My M1 Garand is an Italian made one, manufactured by Breda, it's a post war production that saw service with Danes and features a VAR barrel, which according to people more knowledgeable then me, it's basically a match barrel. My rifle came with a sling, bayonet w/ scabbard, but no cleaning kit, something that I would like to buy in the future.
